Chteau Capbern is a distinguished winery located in the Saint-Estphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1894 by Georges Gasqueton, the estate remained under the stewardship of the Gasqueton family until 2012. In that year, it was acquired by Suravenir Insurance, marking a new era of investment and revitalization. The chteau is renowned for producing wines that embody the robust character and elegance typical of Saint-Estphe.

Wine Description

The 2021 vintage of Chteau Capbern presents a medium crimson hue with subtle purple and ochre nuances at the rim. On the nose, it offers enticing aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, and plum, complemented by savory notes and hints of orange zest. The palate is juicy and elegant, showcasing fresh acidity and well-integrated tannins. Flavors of pure redcurrant pastille and red licorice are interwoven with fine graphite and savory oak nuances, leading to a chewy and prolonged finish. The wine underwent 18 months of aging in 40% new French oak barriques and has an alcohol content of 12.8%.
