Chteau Pichon Longueville Baron, a distinguished Second Growth estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, is situated in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established in the late 17th century, the estate has a rich history of producing exceptional wines that exemplify the Pauillac terroir.
The 2021 vintage is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot, reflecting one of the highest proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon in the estate’s history. This wine exhibits a deep purple hue and opens with aromas of cassis, blackberries, cigar wrapper, loamy soil, pencil shavings, and licorice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit flavors, fine-grained tannins, and a refined, elegant profile.
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roasted duck, or aged cheeses. Its structured tannins and rich fruit make it an excellent match for bold, savory dishes.
This wine is expected to develop beautifully with age and is best enjoyed from 2028 through 2042.
Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full complexity. Serve at a temperature of 16-18C (60-64F).
