Situated in the village of Santenay, over the years the domaine has acquired an enviable assortment of holdings. In Santenay, where the brothers own the most vines, there are key plots of 1er Crus Maladire and Gravire, in addition to villages-level Champs Claude.
Traditionally Santenay wines had a reputation for being rustic, but Muzard’s Santenays are all about elegance and finesse. The 1er Crus Graviere was made from grapes harvested from vineyards planted in the early 1960s. Vinified with 30% whole bunches and aged in 30% new French oak barrels, this Burgundy has some real depth.
