L’Usine Cellars Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 (Orin Swift)

L’Usine Sleepy Hollow Vineyard is a Pinot Noir that isn’t dominated by ripe fruit aromas; instead, the earthy side of the varietal takes center stage. The medium crimson hue has a dark rim that foreshadows the nose of brioche, potting soil, black fig, pomegranate and some red fruits scattered throughout. Flooding the palate, the entry is pure raspberry preserve with a hint of crunchy blueberry and strawberry on the mid-palate. The welcoming toasted oak on the finish rounds out the wine with a soft, lifting mouthfeel and a lingering note of cranberry and acid.
