Petrolo Torrione Toscana 2021 – 1.5 Litre Bottle

This Estate was bought by the Bazzocchi family in the 1940s and since the mid 80s has been headed by Lucia Bazzocchi Sanjust with the assistance of her son Luca. Petrolo Estate is located at the site of what was originally a small medieval town called Galatrona and a ower from this period (itself built on foundations dating back to the Roman era) still exists on the property.

Torrione marks the beginning of the Petrolos quality revolution. It is considered to be the true identity of Petrolo, made with a blend of grapes from all of the estates vineyards. With a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrione is also in keeping with Tuscan tradition of adding Bordeaux varieties to Sangiovese and instilling a sense of place in the French varieties, lending them a distinctly Tuscan character.

Bright and bursting with cherry, raspberry and floral notes, this red is harmonious and expressive. Reveals earth, graphite and tobacco accents on the finish, which shows fine length and compact, chalky tannins. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
