Rocca di Castagnoli is an ancient medieval fortress from which the hamlet of Castagnoli originated. This place has historically been owned by many noble families the Tempi (whose coat of arms still represents the company) and the Ricasoli.

100% Sangiovese, carefully blended from the different crus of Castagnoli. Each year they analyze the fruit that each parcel has produced to create a balanced, complex Chianti Classico that can be enjoyed immediately and offers a pleasant drinkability.

Farmed organically for over 50 years, Castagnolis 11 hectares of vineyards sit on terraced slopes held up by dry stone walls. Interspersed with olive trees, individually staked bush vines soak up the radiated heat and southwestern sun. The 2019 demonstrates generous ripeness, juxtaposed with cool, high altitude perfumes and buoyancy. It charms with an intense mix of sweet garden herbs, savoury spice, tobacco, and dense red berries framed by firm yet silky tannins. Succulent blood orange pierces through on the warming finish.
